About Paytide

Plenty of people who get paid for their work are not shops. A tutor, a dog walker, a plumber or a designer finishes a job and then has to ask for money, usually by reading out a sort code or waiting for a bank transfer that may or may not come. Taking a card normally means buying a reader, building a website or signing up to a monthly plan sized for a business much bigger than theirs.

Paytide is the smaller answer: a link with your own name in it, paytide.co.uk/your-name, that anyone can open and pay by card. It is easy to say out loud, easy to trust when it turns up in a message, and costs nothing until someone pays you.

Paytide is software built on top of Stripe. It gives you a pay page, payment links, invoices with a one-time payment link, a printable QR code and a dashboard showing what has come in.

Paytide is not a bank and does not hold your money. Payments are taken on your own Stripe account and paid from there to your bank. See exactly what it costs on the fees page.

Paytide is operated by Mather Software Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17443861). Our registered office is 31 Mill Fold Gardens, Littleborough, OL15 8SA.

Card payments are processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd, which is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (Firm Reference Number 900461). When you connect your account you agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement. Card details go straight to Stripe; Paytide never sees or stores them.
